Fall 2011 RTW Continued . . .

So I've decided that I'm just going to start at the top of the list and work my way down. For a week or two I will be non-stop posting about the Fall 2011 RTW collections and then will hopefully have enough time for a breather before I get hit with the couture shows. So I'm just going to get started:

3.1 Phillip Lim
This line was pretty neutral for me. I didn't love it nor did I hate it.

A. F. Vandevorst
This line I was not a fan of. I had a hard time finding pieces I liked. It was rather half-hazard and random, proving only to be messy to me.

Acne
There weren't a lot of pieces in this line but what there was, was nice. I use "nice" because nothing so far has really wowed me but this line was clean and well put together.

ADAM
This line was really great! I loved the fabrics and the silhouettes and how different each piece was.

A Détacher
I really liked this one. I loved the colors and the structure of the garments, especially.

Akris
This line was simple but had a lot of impact. The fabrics and colors were well chosen and the way the garments were constructed was beautifully done.

Alberta Ferretti
I loved this line! There was lace, silk, color, boots! I just really loved this one.

Albino
This line was fun but a little repetitive. I liked the fur adorned pieces and the bursts of color.

Alexander McQueen
I love how detail oriented and how well structured this line was. While I felt that this line may have paralleled their past collections a little too closely, it is still a remarkable line and wonderfully presented.

Alexander Wang
This line was well done and very Alexander Wang. I feel that Alexander Wang, McQueen, and Christian Loboutin's products are very identifiable. It's easy to tell when you are in the presence of an Alexander Wang creation, simply by identifying the relaxed elegance that is evident in every one of his pieces.

I have sixteen more people to do before I even get through the A names so those will have to wait until tomorrow. I hope you enjoyed these so far.

My St. Patty's item for today is this adorable little pin that my friend gave me yesterday. I'll definitely be wearing it this Thursday!

Sigh. . .

Yikes. I'm finally back from my DECA competition, which was utterly exhausting! I came in 23rd overall which may sound like I sucked it up but that is still actually pretty good. It was disappointing not to at least make it up on stage, regardless of the fact that I wont get to go to Nationals, but maybe next year. At all of these DECA events I find that I'm getting really sick of the first two days, it's so repetitive and I feel like I'm just going through the motions but the last day always makes me nostalgic. So we'll see how next year goes.

Anyways, I know I promised to post my not-so favorites of the Oscar's but right now I kind of want to focus on positive things rather than my negative opinions of celebrities' fashion fails. Instead I will give a brief update on the going ons in my world and the fashion world and then go to bed. It's pretty late, but I feel like I really need to post today so. . . :

Not much has been going on with me. I have a lot of homework I need to be getting done and a lot of chores that have needed being done for weeks. I tweaked my neck the other day and now have trouble moving it to the left and as soon as I get off here have to go ice it for another twenty minutes. Besides those two riveting items I really have been bored out of my mind around here and have been spending my spare time on designer websites in the hope that money will fall out of the sky and I will actually be able to purchase something. Hasn't happened so far, but you can always hope.

The fall 2011 RTW shows are shaping up to be pretty impressive and I'll be putting up pictures within the next two weeks or so. And coming up this week I will be posting a MASSIVE collection of all my favorite pairs of shoes (there's a lot!) as well as shots of the ones I myself own. It won't be till the end of the week since I have state mandated tests (bleh!) but I will post them at the latest by Friday night in celebration of being done with this ridiculous testing the state actually believes is necessary.

Also starting this week (since I have no cash for the luna bar plan [LBP] it will have to wait) I will be posting about a variety of Irish related items, leading up to st. patty's day. Yay!

Fall 2011 RTW

D'accord, alors voici quelques photos de l'automne de cette année des collections de prêt-à-porter. Il ya seulement eu un couple de designers posté ce jour sur mon web site, style.com, donc je ferai en sorte de poster plus dès qu'ils sont téléchargés il.

Okay, so here are some pictures from this year's fall ready-to-wear collections. There have only been a couple of designers posted so far on my go to web site; style.com, so I'll make sure to post more as soon as they are uploaded there.

Dsquared²

Giorgio Armani

Iceberg

Just Cavalli

Piazza Sempione

So, I need to make cash, fast (although who doesn't) and would love to hear any ideas you may have on how to accomplish this. I have several items coming up that need to be payed for and am trying to figure out quick, easy, and possibly unconventional ways to make money. If you have any ideas please post! Also I'm looking into starting a youtube channel (one of my many money schemes) and will possibly begin posting some of my blog posts via video! Also, please comment below if you have any ideas on video topics I could use for my channel. Thanks!

State competition is coming up really soon! Thursday I leave and I will get back on Saturday. Seeing as I made seventh last year (unfortunately two places away from qualifying for nationals) there is the possibility that I could make nationals this year but I'm not counting on it. There are so many people and so many variables that it's an extremely unsure thing, but you never know! If I place well enough to get to go to nationals, I will be attending the event in. . . Orlando, Florida! While it is very exciting I almost don't want to go, seeing as I will be traveling there with my family soon and would rather wait to experience it with them. As soon as I get back I will make sure to post about it!

A friend of  mine was eating a Luna bar today, which I've never had, and told me that I absolutely have to try them, the lemon zest ones particularly. So, depending on cash, I'm going to be posting about a different flavor luna bar every week until I run out of luna bar flavors, or cash, whichever happens first!

Okay, so personally I haven't really been wowed by any of the designers thus far in the fall 2011 RTW collections. I enjoyed Dsquared², and Just Cavalli, but everything else has been pretty flat to me. Hopefully, as more designers show their lines, I will get more excited for the coming fall.

You may remember a purple lace dress, designed by Elie Saab and presented in his 2011 Couture line, featured during my horrendously long post of pictures a couple of weeks ago. While checking my email I saw a picture of Mila Kunis wearing the exact same piece on comcast and started jumping up and down, yelling, "That's my dress! That's my dress!" I got a lot of weird looks, seeing as I was residing in my school's computer lab at the time, but I didn't care! I was just so excited to see something that I'd seen on the runway, worn in "real life". Here is a fantastic picture of her in that absolutely gorgeous gown walking the red carpet at the Oscar's this past Sunday.

Before I go, I just read an article that has got me all strung out. One of my favorite designers John Galliano, who has been designing for Christian Dior for fourteen years, is being fired due to a remark he made that was extremely offensive and disturbing. I hate it when people mix their personal opinions with work, especially when their opinion is one that is so monstrous, it's hard to believe that he really said it. It's a real shame because I really loved his designs and was looking forward to many more years of gorgeous garments. While he is in the process of being fired, I don't believe he will just vanish and I'm sure he will resurface soon, and next time, will hopefully keep his opinions to himself.

This link has the article in the Los Angeles Times if you wish to read it:
