New Shoes!

J'ai obtenu une nouvelle paire de chaussures d'aujourd'hui, une paire que j'ai manqué pendant un certain temps. Ils sont une paire de talons Guess dentelle noir et beige qui sont environ quatre pouces de haut et ils sont magnifiques! Cette image est la seule que j'ai pu trouver déjà en ligne et il ne fait pas vraiment lui rendre justice, afin que je puisse envoyer une autre photo de lui plus tard, quand j'ai le temps de prendre un.

I got a new pair of shoes today, a pair I've been wanting for a while. They are a pair of Guess black and beige lace heels that are about four inches high and they're gorgeous! This picture is the only one I could find already online and it doesn't really do it justice, so I might post another picture of it later when I have time to take one.

We're writing a research paper in English class on violations of human rights. We're not allowed to do death penalty, abortion, legalization of marijuana, or doctor-assisted suicide (technically it's not a violation of human's rights because they choose it themselves). I've decided to do sex slave trafficking (which apparently every other girl in the class also wants to do) in Western Europe around Italy, France, and Germany. I'm pretty passionate about the subject, but that may turn out to be a bad thing. Since it's a research paper, we're not allowed to be persuasive or to argue a point. This paper is not designed to create debate but simply to present facts. I'm a little worried that I will end up being sarcastic in my remarks and that I'll be graded down for that. The paper has to be 12-15 pages long which coupled with my approaching AP World History Exam, my color guard trip to Canada, color guard practice, my best friend's birthday, the booth I need to design for our school's annual trade show, preparation for next year's schedule, volunteering a minimum of fifteen hours for National Honors Society plus more hours for the school, basic day-to-day homework, blogging, and working out, I'm pretty much ready to lose it.

The Met

Comme beaucoup d'entre vous le savez probablement déjà, le Metropolitan Museum of Art présentera une exposition intitulée: Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, pour commémorer la vie et les conceptions de la légendaire designer. Quel serait un rêve est de visiter moi-même, la soirée d'ouverture (lundi 2 mai), mais hélas je n'ai ni l'argent ni le transport de le faire et devra se contenter d'examiner de nouvelles ici à mon bureau . Je vais couvrir des nouvelles de ce que je trouve cette nuit alors assurez-vous de syntoniser lundi.

As many of you probably already know, The Metropolitan Museum of Art will be presenting an exhibition titled: Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, to commemorate the life and designs of the legendary designer. What would be a dream come true is to visit it myself, opening night (Monday, May 2nd), but alas I have neither the money nor the transportation to do so and will have to be content with reviewing news of it here at my desk. I'll be covering news of what I find that night so make sure to tune in Monday.

Star Wars

J'espère que tout le monde avait un week-end fantastique de Pâques. Samedi nous sommes allés et ont visité l'exposition Star Wars. C'était vraiment cool, mais je n'ai pas pu l'apprécier pleinement car je n'ai jamais vu les films. Si vous avez Je recommanderais certainement faire un voyage pour le voir. Nous avons mangé à moins P.F. Chang (un excellent restaurant chinois), puis avait dessert au Cheesecake Factory. J'ai tendance à taux de ma journée sur ce que j'ai mangé (sans doute pas en bonne santé) pour samedi a été formidable! Dimanche, nous n'avons pas fait beaucoup, mais nous ne jouissent simplement assis en famille et regarder des films ensemble.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter weekend. Saturday we went and visited the Star Wars exhibit. It was really cool but I couldn't fully appreciate it since I've never seen the movies. If you have I would definitely recommend taking a trip to see it. We ate out at P.F. Chang's (a fantastic Chinese restaurant) and then had dessert at Cheesecake Factory. I tend to rate my day on what I ate (probably not healthy) so Saturday was great! Sunday we didn't do much but we did enjoy just sitting around as a family and watching movies together.

It's Friday...Again

Je pensais simplement que nous, les humains sont à jamais vivant dans l'attente du moment suivant. Il est rare que je sens que nous pensons à la façon dont nous sommes chanceux de vivre dans le présent. J'ai toujours blâmer l'école pour rendre la vie prennent une éternité à passer aux choses amusantes, mais j'ai réalisé que si je ne me suis vraiment investir dans celles qui sont spécifiques "fun" moments, la vie vous sentirez encore plus court qu'il ne l'est déjà. Ralentissez et profitez.

I was just thinking how as humans we are forever living in anticipation of the next moment. Rarely do I feel that we think about how lucky we are to be living in the now. I always blame school for making life take forever to get to the fun stuff, but I realized that if I only really invest myself in those specific "fun" moments, life will feel even shorter than it already is. Slow down and enjoy.

Prom

Hier, je suis allée bal magasiner avec un de mes meilleurs amis et elle a acheté une robe magnifique silver. Il a des perles et des fronces à la taille qui tire d'un côté, est sans bretelles, et a un peu jusqu'a la fente à hauteur du genou. Elle ressemble beaucoup à elle et je parie que son petit ami yeux à peu près bug de sa tête quand il la voit. Je ne vais pas au bal d'etudiants, mais je vais être utile à beaucoup de mes amis trouvent leurs robes et je suis très excité à ce sujet. Si quelqu'un d'entre vous lecteurs vont au bal d'etudiants, je vous souhaite un bon moment, mais rappelez-vous, c'est juste une danse. Ne pas le construire en quelque chose de si fantastique que vous serez déçus.

Yesterday, I went prom shopping with one of my best friends and she bought a gorgeous silver gown. It has beading and ruching in the waist that pulls off to one side, is strapless, and has a little-over-the knee-high slit. She looks great in it and I bet her boyfriend's eyes will just about bug out of his head when he sees her. I am not going to prom but I am going to be helping a lot of my friends find their dresses and I'm very excited about that. If any of you readers are going to prom, I hope you have a great time, but remember, it's just a dance. Don't build it up into something so fantastical that you'll be disappointed.

Some of you may have seen the headline stating that Kate Middleton will not throw her bouquet to the single ladies at her wedding, as is tradition. I just finished reading the article about it, which you may read here: Kate Middleton Not Throwing Wedding Bouquet? . The reason she won't be throwing them is because she will instead be placing them on the tomb of the unknown soldier after the wedding and before the reception, a tradition started by Queen Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (Queen Mother).


As I said I would, I'm going to post a video blog of a recipe that you guys vote on. Below are three appetizers/ side dishes that I have picked out with their ingredients so you may make a more informed decision. At the bottom of the recipes is the poll. Simply check off which recipe you would like to see me make and I'll hopefully be posting that within the month.

1. Sliced Baked Potatoes:

• 4 medium potatoes
• 2-3 tbsp melted butter
• 4 tbsp grated cheddar
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 1/2 tsp cumin
• 1 1/2 tbsp Parmesan

2. Petite Pizza Puffs:

• 12 slices pepperoni, chopped
• 1/4 cup finely shredded mozzarella cheese
• 2 tablespoons pizza sauce
• 1 package refrigerated pizza crust

3. Twice-Baked Potatoes:

• 6 large potatoes
• 1/2 cup softened butter
• 2 cups sour cream
• 1/4-1/2 cups milk
• 1/8-1/4 cup finely chopped  green onion
• 1 whole jar hormel real crumbled bacon
• 2-3 cups grated cheddar
• salt
• pepper
• 1/2-1 tsp garlic granules

So Sore

Je suis rentré de la chose color guard le dimanche et je suis encore le sentir aujourd'hui. J'ai eu tellement de mal à descendre l'escalier et mon cou était si raide, je pouvais à peine bouger. Il avait beaucoup de plaisir, mais j'ai eu un moment très fort à notre première pratique, l'autre soir car je ne pouvais pas bouger! Nous avons trois pratiques par semaine à partir de maintenant jusqu'au mois de mai et nous avons à apprendre deux routines. Je suis un peu nerveux de les amener à la baisse depuis la plupart des jeunes filles en garde du drapeau ont déjà appris toutes les bases, avoir été en plus longtemps, alors que je suis d'avoir à apprendre tous les rudiments de nouveau.

I got back from the color guard thing on Sunday and am still feeling it today. I had such a hard time going down the stairs and my neck was so stiff, I could barely move it. It was a lot of fun but I had a really hard time at our first practice the other night since I couldn't move! We have three practices a week from now until May and we have to learn two routines. I'm a little nervous of getting them down since most of the girls in color guard have already learned all the basics, having been in it longer, while I'm having to learn all the basics anew.

I know it's a little late, but starting today I will be posting a wedding related item each day, in preparation for my wedding post that will be launched the day of Kate Middleton and Prince William's wedding. I'm not sure when I'm going to post that day since for us we won't get to view the wedding until four AM, Saturday, but I'll probably post it as soon as coverage comes out about it.

Color Guard

Demain, je vais à une pratique de six heures de garde à long couleur que je suis sûr que va me tuer. Je ne suis pas une personne particulièrement fort physiquement et je suis connu pour des ecchymoses plus facilement que d'une pêche. J'ai joué sport toute ma vie, mais cette année, en raison d'une blessure à l'épaule j'ai eu à jouer au tennis, je ne joue pas tous les sports, qui, croyez-moi, est extrêmement bizarre pour moi, après avoir pratiqué des sports depuis que je pouvais marcher. Espérons que ce sera amusant et je vais poster sur le sujet demain.

Tomorrow, I'm going to a six-hour long color guard practice that I'm pretty sure is going to kill me. I'm not an especially physically strong person and I'm known for bruising easier than a peach. I've played sports all my life but this past year, because of a shoulder injury I got playing tennis, I didn't play any sports, which, trust me, is extremely weird for me, having played sports since I could walk. Hopefully it will be fun and I'll be posting about it tomorrow.

Princess's Diana's Ring

I was too young to really understand the true horror of Princess Diana's death, but through reading about her and growing up with my mother (who like most of the world, utterly adored her) I have come to learn about what a fantastic woman she was. This ring, which was and still is an iconic piece of jewelry, seems to impart all of her elegance and beauty into one small package.

Another piece of jewelry that was an iconic representation of her was the crystal love knot crown . My mom, who collects crowns, actually has a replica of this one. It's gorgeous and I just love everything about it. Here is a picture of her wearing it.

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton's new jewelry collection, L'ame Du Voyage, shows some of the most beautiful and extravagant pieces of jewelry I have ever seen. There are also several engagement rings that I found that I absolutely love but I'm going to save them for my wedding post which will be posted on Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding day; Friday, April 29th. Make sure to check that out!
